At the beach

At the beach when I walk out side of the door warm white sand piles in between the spaces of my toes and I walk out. I skip to the open knitted hammock and lay as I listen to the white bubbles of waves crash to the shore. Milk colored birds soar above me and the sun starts to set. The fiery blaze of light melts the blue out of the sky and washes hues of pinks oranges and fuchsias across the horizon. The soft sound of the waves and the swing of the hammock make me sleepy so I take one last deep breath of the salty air and sleep.

Rain

Clear glassy bubbles of water dance with the wind. I sat at my window in my oversized sweater and holding my warm pumpkin spice late. My fingers brushed the glass of the window and a cool shiver on my fingers arrived. The cracklings of the fire place smelled like winter and my toes nestled in the warm fur rug on the dark wooden floor. The roar of the wind shaked mini waterfalls off the trees branches. I gazed at the setting sun behind the clouds. Grey tinted purple yellows and oranges decorated the sky and silhouette the large oak trees. The rain storm whispers goodnight and the sun sinks into the earth.

Spring Joy

Open the door and step across the threshold.
Onto the wet grass and into the bright sun.
Atop a flower petal a drop of dew waits.
Birds soar between the trees over head.
Water bugs ski across the smooth glass lake.
Swans swim beside each other.
While the fish dive beneath the surface.
I follow the sound of the wind.

Destin,FL

My family and I have a tradition of going to Destin,Fl every summer! We have a baby blue beach house that sits right on the shore of the water. Out the window you can see the crystal clear water brushing back the sand.

When my family go on our yearly trip we pack our bags load up our car and start driving. We stop for lunch in Houston and then keep driving until we get to Baton Rouge, LA. We get to our hotel and spend the night and then we eat our breakfast and drive all the way to Destin.

When we finally pull up to the house we unpack and smell the salty water. The Sea Gulls circle over head searching for food. Once we finish unpacking we walk on to the beach with the sand in between our my toes I feel the cool ocean water brushing against my ankles .

Destin is an amazing place I hope to keep going for the rest of my life!
